2013 // Dot-to-Dot Gallery
So it is a brand new year, and a new start... 2013 - I feel like I'm in a sci-fi film!
It has been a few months now since I returned from my 3 year traveling adventure, it's been much harder than I expected re-adjusting to the 'real world' but I'm gradually getting my head around it! I'm really enjoying the chance to focus on my art and start elaborating more on all the ideas and themes that have been developing over the last couple of years on the road.
In other news, I'm very excited to be the 'January Artist' at Dot-to-Dot Gallery in Letchworth, there's lots planned including an interactive live wall, or 'living evolving mural,' workshops for kids and adults and a chance to get my paints out in a wonderful studio space, have creative fun and drink yummy coffee!
It's also a really cool project, the gallery is being run as a fundraiser for Rhapsode, an organization that looks to create ways of connecting artists with the public through festivals, workshops, schools etc - making art more accessible to everyone and spreading and inspiring creativity. It's right up my street :)

Cox & Kings
Hello! I've only just got back from my travels and was itching for a fun project to get stuck into when I was invited to take part in a 'bloggers challenge' for Cox & Kings, the oldest travel company in England (established in 1758!). The theme is 'Inspiring India' which couldn't be more perfect since I spent 6 months there during my travels, and it really was so inspiring.. especially all the naughty bandit monkeys!
Anyway the challenge is to create a piece of artwork, which will then be exhibited at a special India themed evening at the Royal Geographical Society in London, (the highlights will be a talk by Mark Tully on The Mind of India, as well as a specially curated exhibit of maps, photographs and archival material from the Society’s India-related collections spanning more than 500 years!) All artworks will then go to a vote at the event, and the winner gets an amazing prize, so fingers crossed :)
If you're interested in attending the event go here - http://coxandkings.eventbrite. co.uk/ also if you want to go on a dream trip and escape the English winter, check out Cox and Kings luxury holidays, as well as their group holidays which all look lovely.
It's going to take a little while to get my head around being back after almost 3 years away, but for now I'm loving spending my days cycling around and drawing and catching up with old friends and making new ones, I'm also hoping for a nice late Indian summer now that there's a hint of autumn chill in the air.. x

The Dark Tree

It's friday(!) and I thought it was probably about time I formally introduced my new shop The Dark Tree. It wasn't really a secret, I guess I just wanted to try something a little different, without mixing it up too much with all the other stuff I'm doing. Anyway these are a few of the new paintings - from the top Genevieve, Edmund, Lulu, Charlie and Fifi (some of them have sold already - i can't believe it!) and I also have prints available too. As you can see they are quite a bit cuter than anything else i've done..

The Cat is out the Bag!

Hey everyone! We'll I've been keeping this a little quiet until it was all sorted but now I can reveal that I have been included in the latest 'Pika-Package' over at Pikaland! For those of you who don't know about Pikaland, it is the absolute BEST illustration blog out there, and every few months they organize the pika-package, in which they select up and coming illustrators to submit 12 items which then get promoted, sold (and some given away!) ,this is amazing exposure for a young artist like me! Anyway these are some of the things that i sent to them, you can click on the image to go and check them out on pikaland (i'm number 8) and also keep checking back there for the official launch of the pika-package when u will be in for a chance to win your very own Pika-Package! So exciting!!!
